LCC Online Service - 05 July 2020

Welcome

Welcome, please click below for the video welcome message. (If your internet is giving you issues, the written version is below as well).

Good morning everyone!
I would like to welcome each of you to our LCC Online Service today the 5th of July, as we are scattered all over the Globe.
I trust that everyone is well in Spirit and in body. We thank The Lord that covid virus has not heavily infected our country, especially not Lusaka.
The Lord Himself has been encouraging us during these stressful times, as He has promised in His Word. He has been close to us through His Spirit and through His Word. Some of the Home Groups have begun meeting and we hope that sometime later in July we will recommence Sunday Services at the Retreat.
We thank all those faithful people who have been regularly delivering inspired messages from the Lord online each Sunday.
Jesus prayed for His Disciples and for all Believers as recorded in John 17:6-26, which I now read:

6 I have manifested Your Name to the men whom You have given to me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given them the Words which You have given Me, and they have received them, and have known surely that I came from You; and they have believed that You sent Me. 9 I pray for them, I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your Name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your Name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth. 18. As You sent Me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the Truth. 20 I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My Glory which you have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O Righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have know You; and these have known that You have sent Me. 26 And I have declared to them Your Name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

Amen

Prayer

Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord;
Praise Him, O servants of the Lord,
You who stand in the house of the Lord,
In the courts of the house of our God!
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.
For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His own possession.

For I know that the Lord is great
And that our Lord is above all gods.
Whatever the Lord pleases, He does,
In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
Who makes lightnings for the rain,
Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.

He smote the firstborn of Egypt,
Both of man and beast.
He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,
Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 He smote many nations
And slew mighty kings,
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
And Og, king of Bashan,
And all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 And He gave their land as a heritage,
A heritage to Israel His people.
13 Your name, O Lord, is everlasting,
Your remembrance, O Lord, throughout all generations.
14 For the Lord will judge His people
And will have compassion on His servants.
15 The idols of the nations are but silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they do not speak;
They have eyes, but they do not see;
17 They have ears, but they do not hear,
Nor is there any breath at all in their mouths.
18 Those who make them will be like them,
Yes, everyone who trusts in them.

19 O house of Israel, bless the Lord;
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord;
20 O house of Levi, bless the Lord;
You who revere the Lord, bless the Lord.
21 Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
Who dwells in Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!

- Psalm 135 (NASB)

  1. Praise God for what He has done. For He loves the world so much that He continues to seek relationship with His Creation since the day of Creation. Praise the Lord for carrying His Church through all the centuries of time. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in feast and famine, in privilege and persecutions, in long life or short. Praise Jesus for making away for us to be redeemed as rightful daughters and sons of God.

  2. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and your household with the Fruit of the Spirit faith that in their abundance your community will be blessed, experiencing a taste of the kingdom of heaven and be transformed by the Spirit’s work.

  3. Pray for baby Hope. Pray for healing. Pray for wisdom and breakthrough.

  4. Pray for perseverance, faith and healing for Kate as she continues treatment in the UK.

  8. Pray for wisdom and guidance for the Elders.

  9. Pray for wisdom and guidance for the Pastoral Call Committee.

  10. Proclaim God’s sovereignty over our lives and surrender control - “'‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit’, says the LORD Almighty” (Zechariah 4:6).

Please share your praises and prayer needs with any of the Elders via WhatsApp or email the church email or via the Prayer Form so that we can all continue being in prayer for one another.

Thank you

July has arrived and many of us are enjoying a long holiday weekend. We rejoice that we get to worship with you. And during this long weekend we reflect and give thanks to God for all of the Believers who have come before us, that God uses as people of encouragement to finish the race He has set out for us. And we rejoice knowing that the Holy Spirit continues to unify all of us across borders and oceans.

Benediction

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written,

“For Your sake we are being put to death all day long;
We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:31-39 (NASB)

Amen.
