LCC Online Service - 07 June 2020

Welcome

Welcome, please click below for the video welcome message. (If your internet is giving you issues, the written version is below as well).

Good Morning LCC Family

We are still not having services together, but the elders are meeting this weekend and among other issues, we will be discussing when and how we will resume “normal” services.  Please pray for us to hear from the Lord and make wise decisions.

As we continue to face challenges in the lifestyle we are adjusting to, I want us to consider two concepts and look at a few scriptures.

TRANSFORM OUR MINDS

Firstly, the concept of transforming our minds, realizing that while we are here on this earth, we are spiritual beings and as an ongoing process need to submit ourselves to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2: Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

GIVE THANKS

I often forget the calling in the Bible to continually give thanks, even when we are facing struggles.  In the same way that sowing has a reaping to follow, so giving thanks brings a harvest, but in a different form, in our peace of mind and our spiritual wellbeing.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

May we all know the Lord’s leading and presence as we worship today and hear His word.

Prayer

I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul will make its boast in the Lord;
The humble will hear it and rejoice.
O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

I sought the Lord, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.

O taste and see that the Lord is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
O fear the Lord, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no want.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger;
But they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.
11 Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who desires life
And loves length of days that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones,
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.

Thank you

What joy to sit/stand in awe of God. He is faithful. We are so thankful that we could join with you on this platform worshipping our Lord Jesus Christ. We anticipate the future time when we can gather together again face to face. We, elders, appreciate hearing any comments, questions, recommendations, prayer requests, or just to chat. We are available to receive phone calls, WhatsApp messages or emails.

Benediction

But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!

Amen.

Jude 1:17-25 (NASB)
