LCC Online Service - 09 August 2020
Welcome
Welcome, please click below for the video welcome message. (If your internet is giving you issues, the written version is below as well).
Welcome to our LCC Sunday Service.
It is good to meet together on line, and also for some, at the live Service today.
Our Saviour, Jesus, is present with us whenever we meet in His Name.
He is omnipresent and we praise His Name.
How are the covid restrictions affecting our walk with the Lord?
Are we spending more time with God or are we quietly drifting away because of a lack of discipline and routine?
The Bible says “Do not neglect meeting together…” Heb 10: 25.
But, in the current circumstances, how do we do this?
Some feel free to join Home Groups, and some feel free to attend the live Church Service on Sundays, and some meet together with their families at home. Whatever we do, we must seek direction from the Lord. Whatever God shows us to do we must do. We must also exhort or encourage one another to remain in fellowship with one another and in fellowship with the Lord.
We can do this by staying in contact with one another by phone calls, messaging, etc or by in-person meetings. We must all stay in the Word and in prayer and all be strengthened in our relationship with Jesus.
The Call Committee have been busy and it looks like we are close to announcing a new Pastor. This will be good for the Church but will also need finance. Our giving through LCC will need to increase a lot to be able to sustain a Pastor.
Apart from us needing to remain diligent in our relationship with God and with our fellow believers we need to maintain holy lives as recorded in 1 Pt 1: 13-17. (NIV)
vs13… Therefore, prepare your mind for action; be self -controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written “ Be holy because I am holy” Since you call on a Father who judges each man’s work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. Amen
Our God is faithful. Lets praise Him in song as we continue to prepare ourselves to hear His Word preached today.

Prayer
1 I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
8 The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.- Psalm 121 (NASB)

Communion
I invite you to join with us in the taking of communion
John 3:16 (NIV)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,” that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus died and rose to newness of life, to pay the penalty for our sin so that we can choose life in Jesus.
We call it salvation.
Does salvation mean “Deliverance from sin”?
or “Experience personal holiness”?
Salvation is so much more!
Salvation is being completely delivered from myself, and being placed into perfect union with God through Jesus.
The Spirit of God brought us into intimate contact with the true person of God Himself at the time of salvation.
This is sobering that He died in our place, yet so joyous that He rose to newness of life that we can be set free by rising to newness of life ourselves when we receive Jesus as our Saviour.
The Word calls us to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus as oft as we do it.
Jesus, when demonstrating communion, used some bread to represent His body to be broken for us and some wine to represent His blood soon to be shed for us.
I invite each of you who love the Lord, to participate in your own time in remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus for us.
Remembering first to pray and ask God to forgive us of any sins that we may still be holding onto.
Please participate in the communion.
