Welcome
Welcome, please click below for the video welcome message. (If your internet is giving you issues, the written version is below as well).
Welcome everyone to Lusaka Community Church today’s Online Sunday Service,
I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us take this opportunity to thank our heavenly Father for allowing us to worship Him and to listen to his word.
It is a great joy to each and every one of us to be in God’s presence.
In this service, may the Lord fill us with His power so that our lives can be transformed and filled with His love and peace.
Let us read together Psalm 122 (NIV)
1 I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
2 Our feet are standing
in your gates, Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up—
the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There stand the thrones for judgment,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8 For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
We have been aware that the current pandemic, Covid-19, has slowed down our daily activities and interrupted human plans and schedules.
We would like to encourage you to join us in prayer as we consider resuming our Sunday Service at the Retreat – in the new normal.
We believe in the creator God, who sustains his creation in and out of season.
Let’s continue to worship our God and to listen to His voice today.
We shall we pray
O Lord, our God, you are worthy of all our praise. You are the God who never fails to keep his promises. We thank you that in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection we see your love, justice, mercy, provision and victory. You are the God who lifts up those who are weighed down. You are the God who provides for your children. Our desire is to praise you as long as we live.
In Jesus’ we pray.
Amen.

Prayer
1 Save me, O God, by your name;
vindicate me by your might.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.3 Arrogant foes are attacking me;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
people without regard for God.4 Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me.5 Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness destroy them.6 I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
7 You have delivered me from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.- Psalm 54 (NASB)

Communion
Brothers and sisters, I greet you once again in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Before we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, let us look into our hearts and forgive those we have wronged us.
Let us ask our God to forgive our sins.
Reading from the Gospel of Luke 11:1-13 (NIV)
1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
2 He said to them, “When you pray, say
“‘Father
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.’”
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
As we take the bread and the cup, let us listen to Paul’s message to the church in Corinth.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Amen.
