LCC Online Service - 19 April 2020

Welcome

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Last weekend we celebrated Passover (Easter) which was more than 2000 years ago. Jesus Christ has risen – His mission accomplished! Our sins have been forgiven and we have eternal life with God Almighty. Through His blood the new eternal covenant is in place: Jesus is our mediator - between us and the Father and He is interceding for us.  Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. He has delegated this authority to us, to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe there is a great revival coming. The body of Christ, the church, needs to get ready for this revival by repentance by searching their hearts to ensure they are right with God as well as praying for this revival.

Jesus Christ is coming back for His bride, the church – without spot or wrinkle. Let us ensure that our lamps are full of oil (the Holy Spirit) and that they burn brightly in this dark world.

The best is yet to come!

Prayer

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV)

  1. Pray that people will use this down time to grow in the Lord and not to become slack and drift away.

  2. Pray for faith to arise in peoples hearts to dispel any confusion or fear.

  3. Pray that the Harvest in Chipata will continue to grow.

  4. Pray for the Government to find efficient and effective ways to manage the Country through the pandemic. And for our political leaders to unite as they work to resolve the global crisis

  5. Pray for the Pastor Call Committee process.

  6. Pray for God's Mercy on Zambia.

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
- Psalms 105:1-4 (ESV)

Please share your praises and prayer needs with any of the Elders via WhatsApp or email the church email so that we can all continue being in prayer for one another.

Giving

LCC is taking steps to reduce as many overhead costs as possible since we are not utilising the Sunday morning meeting space, but there are still areas that must continue. This includes the administrator salary and the regular ministry donations that LCC supports. We desire to be good stewards with you of the resources that God has blessed us with.

If you feel led to give to the church you are encouraged to use online transfer facilities. If you are unable to use contactless methods, you can still drop-off your offering at the church office during regular working hours. You can confirm any details with the church administrator by calling, texting, or WhatsApping: +260966800100

Thank You

This is our fourth week offering an online service. Thank you for joining with us through this platform. It is encouraging to know that our brothers and sisters from all over Lusaka and the world are using this format to come together and praise Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. We continue to seek other ways of connecting together and ask for you to join us in this prayer. If you have any additional insight into other creative ways to ‘meet’ together, praise God corporately, and proclaim the Kingdom, please contact an elder or completed a google form: Feedback - Click Here

Reminders

LCC Care Groups:
These groups have been started. If you have been overlooked, we deeply apologize and ask that you reach out to us to be connected to a group. Each group is a little different with some using traditional methods like direct phone calls, while others have created WhatsApp groups. We pray that through sharing with one another we can continue growing as a community, spurring each other on.

Since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
- Hebrews 10:19-25 (ESV)

Grace and boundaries:
We can find ourselves confused, stressed, and fearful with all the news reports being shared with us on social media and news outlets. We need to remind ourselves to set specific boundaries on when and how long we will spend absorbing the never ending information available to us, especially if it is causing anxiety and fear.

If you are becoming anxious or fearful, disconnect from the bombardment of information and reach out to the elders and other Christians to pray and read the scriptures with. Place boundaries in your life regarding the 24/7 news we receive in this day and age. We encourage you to shut-off your devices and spend time in prayer and meditation on the scriptures.

May we spend time meditating on God’s greatness, might, and holiness, because when we do, the fear of this world will fade away. For God is greater than COVID-19, He is greater than death, and no matter what happens in this World, we are sons and daughters of the King. He has His arms wide open to us, if only we turn and fall into them.

Benediction

Put on then,
as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
bearing with one another and,
if one has a complaint against another,
forgiving each other;
as the Lord has forgiven you,
so you also must forgive.
And above all these put on love,
which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
to which indeed you were called in one body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Colossians 3:12-17 (ESV) -
