LCC Online Service - 24 May 2020
Welcome
In Paul’s words, may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
During these unprecedented times, so much of the world is filled with fear. However, we as Christians are called not to be like the world. God’s Word says that we do not have a spirit of fear, but we have a Spirit of power, love and of a sound mind through Christ Jesus. It is His peace that surpasses our human understanding and rules in our hearts and minds. We know our future. It is hidden with Christ and our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Aren’t these truths exciting and uplifting?
Paul commands us to take every thought captive and to “…fill our minds by meditating on things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling and gracious. The best, not the worst. The beautiful, not the ugly. Things to praise, not things to curse.” (paraphrased from the Message Bible Philippians 4) When we encourage ourselves in God’s Word we can’t help but be filled with His peace and His comfort. After all, we serve a God who promises to never leave or forsake us. The same God has numbered each one of the hairs on our heads – how valuable we are to Him that He should care to know such a thing.
When we walk in faith and not fear, we begin living life in abundance. We serve a glorious Heavenly Father who is so awesome, wonderful, and loving. I encourage you to align your beliefs with the promises God has given us in His Word and fight the good fight of faith.
May our Heavenly Father richly bless you and keep you and your family.

Prayer
1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.3 When my enemies turn back,
they stumble and perish before your presence.
4 For you have maintained my just cause;
you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.5 You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;
you have blotted out their name forever and ever.
6 The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins;
their cities you rooted out;
the very memory of them has perished.7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever;
he has established his throne for justice,
8 and he judges the world with righteousness;
he judges the peoples with uprightness.- Psalm 9:1-8 (ESV)
Praise the Lord for His enduring Love.
Lift up praises to God for all His wonderous deeds in each of our lives. May we meditate on His Word and ask to be reminded of His continued faithfulness and provision.
Pray for individuals and families struggling during this lockdown situation.
Pray for the work that is continuing in Chipata, for perseverance and continued breakthrough.

Pray for the Pastoral Call Committee as they continue the interview and selection process.
9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion!
Tell among the peoples his deeds!
12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them;
he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.13 Be gracious to me, O Lord!
See my affliction from those who hate me,
O you who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may recount all your praises,
that in the gates of the daughter of Zion
I may rejoice in your salvation.15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught.
16 The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment;
the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.Selah
17 The wicked shall return to Sheol,
all the nations that forget God.18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.19 Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail;
let the nations be judged before you!
20 Put them in fear, O Lord!
Let the nations know that they are but men!Selah
- Psalm 9:9-20 (ESV)

Benediction
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:
“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”
Again, it says,
“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”
And again,
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”
And again, Isaiah says,
“The Root of Jesse will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.”
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.Romans 15:5-13
Amen
